Art Crimes Class at COD

Have you ever been intrigued by art crimes? Marti, from our WSAS group, says “When I saw this notice of an interesting art class in the COD Lifelong Learning brochure this week, I wanted to mention it to WSAS members. Ruth Nelson is an outstanding lecturer. My husband and I have enjoyed her recent online classes about the great cathedrals of Europe and art of the Vatican.

Art Crimes Class

Description: Art and cultural property crime—which includes theft, fraud, looting and trafficking across state and international lines—is a booming criminal enterprise. In Session 1, look at art theft from United States and European museums and Session II, war-time looting, Nazi-era art theft and restitution, as well as Iraqi looted and stolen artifacts.
